One of the easy ways to meet new people on campus is by changing your route. Students often times get stuck in the habit of going through the same route and doing the same repetitive patterns and expect different results. A simple change in the direction of how you get to class can lead you to meet new people.
Another way college students can meet new people on campus is by joining student organizations. Every school has a plethora of organizations students can join. The University of Texas at Arlington for example have a diverse list of registered organizations such as African Student Organization, Aero Mavericks, Adventist Christian fellowship etc. These organizations help you socialize with peers on and off campus and also provide opportunities of exposure for the student.
As cliché as this may sound, going to regular hang out spots is also a good way to meet new people. Starbucks, Bombay Chopstix and other eateries on campus provide a conducive environment for students to not only eat and relax but also socialize. You’re bound to meet new people at such places because of how busy it can get.
Lastly, engaging in conversations with your classmates, getting to know one another can be a window of opportunity to meet new people on campus. Interacting with classmates is a very easy way to meet new people. Take for example classmates that realize they have the same taste in music, this’ll serve as an avenue for a student to speak to more people to either put them on new music or get them to share music they listen to.
